“HUGS makes a difference in the lives of many families, and I am so grateful to be a part of such a community.”

-A HUGS Volunteer

  • Become a HUGS Volunteer

The children and families are at the heart of HUGS, but our volunteers are the heartbeat. The dedication of volunteers enables HUGS to continue serving Hawaii’s seriously ill children and their families. HUGS is always in need of committed and caring volunteers to assist with our family programs such as respite care and hospital visitations, and with office support. Become a part of the HUGS team and share your expertise, passion and heart with us.

  • Service & Community Groups

Is your group or company interested in sponsoring a Family Dinner, holding a drive or doing a service project? We’d love to work with you!

  • Hold a Fundraising Event

HUGS' success depends on the initiative and support of businesses, large and small, as well as individuals. Each dollar that you raise will support families from the time of their child's initial diagnosis of a serious illness, during treatment and beyond. We are grateful for your desire to host a special event and designate proceeds or donate a percentage of sales to HUGS. Past events have included golf tournaments, charity walks, new store or restaurant openings, in-store promotions, chef's dinners, galas, bake sales, birthday fundraisers, and more.

  • For Service Providers

We rely on and are grateful for the referrals that come from our partnerships with hospitals and other service providers. Any family with a child who has a life-threatening illness may be referred to HUGS. Illnesses or conditions include, but are not limited to: cancer, cystic fibrosis, heart issues, liver and kidney diseases, and chromosomal or congenital defects and other life-threatening illnesses. Before acceptance to HUGS, the child’s physician must verify the child’s diagnosis.

  • Join HUGS Island Professionals (HIP)

HUGS Island Professionals (HIP) is a group of local individuals, from diverse professional backgrounds, who are deeply interested in and have a passion for the mission of HUGS. HIP is an advisory committee under the HUGS Board of Directors. The primary purpose is to engage Hawaii’s top island professionals through volunteering and fundraising, working together to add joy to the lives of Hawaii’s seriously ill children and their families. The goal: to put philanthropy in action.

  • Mahalo to our Donors

HUGS relies on the community for financial support through monetary and in-kind donations. HUGS is only able to continue the services we provide because of generous community members like you.
