HUGS KIDS “BUDDY” UP WITH THE UH MENS VOLLEYBALL TEAM AT RESPITE NIGHT

Sep 12, 2022

HONOLULU – HUGS For Hawaii’s Seriously Ill Children and Their Families, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping Hawaii’s families with seriously ill children, held their monthly Respite this past Saturday at with the help of the UH Men’s Volleyball Team.

The UH Men’s Volleyball Team, including Coach Wade and Coash Milan, generously donated their time by volunteering to be buddies for the HUGS kids at their recent Respite, that was held at Grace Fellowship in Waipio, who donated their facilities for the night.

Even though most of the kids were just as tall as the players’ knees, the kids and team members had a blast playing lawn games like corn hole and giant Jenga, climbing the playground, playing board games, doing arts and crafts, and just talking story. HUGS was also joined by The Chaminade University nursing program students who also volunteered as buddies.

The Respite was sponsored by Island Energy Services, LLC., the official licensee of Texaco in Hawaii and provided dinner from Panda Express and volunteered their time to help setup, serve food, and provide their overall manpower.
