Aloha HUGS family!
Welcome to your HUGS page. We’re here to support you throughout your journey of caring for your child. This webpage is just for you.
In this section, you’ll find:
2019 HUGS Calendar of Events
Issues of our FamiLynk newsletter
Other valuable resources in the community
Photo albums of HUGS events
Articles on how to strengthen families (coming soon!)
If you’re new to HUGS, we want you to know that support is available to you and your entire family for as long as you need it, from the initial point of diagnosis, through treatment and beyond. We provide events every month so you can meet other HUGS families; events are either held at our HUGS house or in the community.
Family dinners, Mom’s Nights, Dad’s Nights, and special events, are the cornerstone of HUGS, bringing families together for peer support. Attendance is limited to the HUGS child and only his/her immediate family, which includes siblings and parents or legal guardians. We wish we could accommodate extended family members, but it is simply impossible. If you’re interested in attending an event, call or email us at email@example.com as soon as possible as events fill up quickly, and there is usually a wait list. And if you’ve signed up for an event and later realize that you won’t be able to attend, please let us know so we can contact the families on the wait list. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
Our HUGS house is open Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Our house is your house—a place where you are always welcome and can drop by when we’re open. Our Kokua Kupboard is available if you’re in need of a few non-perishable food items, primarily canned goods and starches. Please call in advance so we can prepare a food basket for you.
If you have any questions, need more information or help in any way, you may email firstname.lastname@example.org or please call any one of us:
